Gelli Printed Fabric Leaves Book/Hanging: 3 day non residential retreat: 30/31 August & 1 September 2025: Deposit

Come and join in this wonderful 3 day workshop, and create a truly beautiful stitched fabric book, or fabric hanging, containing wonderful leaf prints.

We will be in the newly refurbished function room at the Needle Museum in Redditch, with numbers limited to 8, so there is plenty of space for all of us to work

We will start by collecting leaves from the beautiful museum and abbey grounds, which we will learn to use to create stunning leaf prints using a gelli plate. We will also make co-ordinating fabrics to create your book/hanging. You will then learn how to construct a fabric book, of collage prints, or lay out your prints for a hanging, and finally how to stitch into these and finish your work. A fabulous way to capture some of the beauty of nature, to stroke whenever you want!!

Gelli plates and paints/dyes will be provided, so all you need to bring is some plain white fabric and a hand sewing kit (and/or sewing machine if desired)

Lunch, plus tea, coffee and biscuits are all also included in the price

This is a non residentail retreat, but many students will stay over. There is a Premier Inn, plus Beefeater restaurant within walking distance of the venue, where Hilary and many of the students often stay.

Cost is £100/day, whcih include lunch, refreshments, paints/dyes and tuition. Your deposit pays for day 1.  The remaining sum will be payable in July 2025.
