Gelli-Printing with Fruit and Veg, to create Still Life Designs: Calcutt Village Hall: Sat 20 and Sun 21st September 2025. Deposit

In this lovely two day, in person workshop, we will be taking over the village hall in Calcutt, Knaresborough again, to get creative. We will be playing with gelli plates together with fruit and veg, to create some exciting still life designs. 

Starting with paint, we will learn to make wonderfully detailed prints of a selection of fruit and veg (I’ll visit the grocery aisle for us!!).

These images will then have washes of dye added to bring up the colours and patterns

These papers will then be sealed with acrylic wax and then cut up to work our designs

Students can work either in a sketchbook, or on loose cartridge paper (or indeed both!!) to create a series of design collages to inspire future work.

Finally, we will look at ways to enhance the collages using pens and crayons

All materials will be provided, apart from a basic kit of pencil, pen, scissors, knife and cutting mat. Lunch and all refreshments (yes – cake) will also be provided. Hoping M&S are back online this time!!

So, it’s a nice light pack and a lovely venue to work in.

Price is £200 for the weekend, including all materials and lunch etc. A deposit of £100 will be taken on booking, with the remainder to be invoiced mid-August

We will start at 11am and finish at 5pm on day 1 to allow time for traveling to Knaresborough in the morning. Then on Sunday we will start at 9.30 am and finish at 3.30pm to allow time for travel home.
