Gelli Still Life: from 1 October 2025

In this lovely one-off workshop, we will learn to use the Gelli plate to create wonderful prints with fruit and vegetables. We will use paint and dye on both paper and fabric to produce beautiful vibrant materials. After fixing papers and cloth, will create design studies in a sketchbook with paper, and then choose one to take forward with fabric, to create a stitched Still Life piece. Finishing with hand stitching and additional mixed media colour if desired, we will then mount our pieces on canvas, ready to display 

Learning includes:

• Gelli plate introduction session
• Preparing dyes and fabric for dyeing
• Printing with fruits/veg and paint onto paper and fabric
• Adding dye to prints
• Fixing prints on fabric and paper
• Create design studies with paper in sketchbook and choose design to create final fabric still life 
• Create final fabric piece using heat n bond on felt 
• Plan and carry out stitching using sewing machine 
• Enhance with hand stitching and extra colour/ marks as appropriate
• Mount on canvas
