Continued Learning and Exhibiting Group

The continued learning and exhibiting group does exactly what it says on the tin! 

It’s an advanced mentored group where we aim to continually learn and develop as artists.  

The group is open to anyone who has completed 2 full years of Hilary’s Make it Personal course - either online or at the Newport studio. In addition, anyone who has completed 2 of Hilary’s one  year courses is also eligible to join. These entry requirements are to ensure the group continues to be able to work as an experimental supportive and enabling place. 

It’s also the home of Viewpoints, a mixed textile arts group which exhibits every couple of years. We recently  showed our first exhibition ‘Honouring the Past: Creating the Future’ at the Festival of Quilts, and Forge Mill Museum, where we got amazingly positive responses 

Our next exhibition will be ‘Collections’ and be exhibited in 2027 

No one is pressured to exhibit - it’s fine to join the group to enjoy the opportunities to expand and  learn as an artist. If you wish to join the exhibitions, the opportunity will be there for you 

The group is a mentored learning place, where ideas, new techniques, extensions and developments of old techniques and inspirations are provided by Hilary’s fortnightly videos. It is a completely safe and private place, with all members acting always to preserve the groups integrity and to support one another while we learn 

Live sessions can also be accommodated if needed. 

Cost is £50/month, payable as £100 every 2 months. Videos are added on the second and fourth Friday of each month
