Photo Collage: From 1 November 2025

Intro plus 12sessions 

In this lovely one off workshop, we will be learning how to use our own photos in combination with papers and fabric, to create beautiful pieces of artwork.  It could be a favourite landscape, a family memory, a beloved pet , lovely flowers, interesting architecture or anything else you have captured with your camera 

You will learn how to choose appropriate photos and how to transfer these to both paper and fabric. We then look at how we can extend our photos into a surrounding collage, making design collages to help us make a final choice. After preparing materials to co-ordinate with our chosen phot, we will create a final piece bonded to felt. We will learn how to plan our stitching and then stitch, adding hand stitch and extra colour if appropriate 

The course concludes with mounting the finished artwork on canvas 

Sessions are as follows: 

• Intro and Choosing photos 
• Identifying colours 
• Identifying contour lines and design type 
• Working off edges with crayons/ pencils to extend the image 
• Choosing 3 possibilities and preparing materials for design collages 
• Options for printing photos 
• Print photos and create 3 design possibilities 
• Work off edges as appropriate 
• Choose design and prepare materials and photos 
• Create collaged piece using felt and heat n bond 
• Plan and carry out stitching using sewing machine
• Enhance with hand stitching and extra colour/ marks as appropriate 
• Mount on canvas 

£60 for whole course including access for at least 2 years
